I absolutely LOVE Mercedes Lackey! Thanks to her and Anne McCaffrey I made it through high school without becoming a full-time cutter, alcoholic or junkie. Books=Better escapism XD I absolutely adored 'Take a Theif' and the Darian trilogy, unfortunately they're some of the few Valdemar books I don't own. (Stupid New Zealand being so far away from everywhere else hand having to pay shipping for decent books!) I loved the books about Alberich too, 'Exile's Honour' and 'Exile's Valour'. Have you read her Elemental Mages series? 'Reserved for the Cat' was sooo cute I sniffled in a happy-tears kind of way.
